  • Polycarp

    Polycarp is a 20 year old from Lwala Acet village, Kaberamaido District. Polycarp lives in with his 14 year old sibling and his blind mother. He was unable to continue with his studies, because his mother was suddenly laid off from her work. “Nursing is a self-employing occupation and I can assist in treating patients due to insufficient health workers.” - Polycarp

    Polycarp is pursuing a Nursing degree at the Mbale School of Nursing and Midwifery completing a 2 ½ year certificate program. He will graduate in June 2023.

  • Priscilla

    Priscilla is a 19 year old from Ogonyo village, Kaberamaido District. Priscilla the last born of 9 children. She started her education at the St. Francis hospital Nsambya trainings school in Kampala, July 2019. She studied only the first semester and stopped due to the loss of her father who was paying for her school fees.

    Priscilla is pursuing a Nursing degree at the St. Francis Hospital Nsambya trainings school in Kampala completing a 2 ½ year certificate program. She will graduate in December 2022.

  • Isaac

    Isaac is a 21 year old from Ararak “A” village, Kaberamaido District . He is the 3rd born of 7 children. Isaac was raised from infancy by his grandmother. Isaac was admitted to the International Institute of Health Sciences for the July 2018 intake. He studied only the first year and then dropped out due to lack of tuition fees.

    Isaac is pursuing a Nursing degree at the International Institute of Health Sciences in Jinja completing a 2 ½ year certificate program. He will graduate in July 2022.

  • Veronica

    Veronica is a 23 year old from Asal village, Kaberamaido. She is 5th born of 12 children. Veronica completed her senior school level four in 2016, but her parents were unable to afford an education for her, they are farmers. She has a passion for nursing, after she completes her certificate she will help her parents, siblings and her community at large.

    Veronica is pursuing a Nursing degree at the Jerusalem School of Nursing and Midwifery completing a 2 ½ year certificate program. She will graduate in June 2023.

  • Damalie

    Damalie is a 23 year old from Oyomai village, Kalaki District. She lives with her parents and siblings, she is the 1st born of 5 children. Damalie completed her senior school level four in 2017. Her father has been disabled since 2015 and her mother, is a farmer.

    Damalie is pursuing Nursing at the Jerusalem School of Nursing and Midwifery completing a 2 ½ year certificate program. She will graduate in June 2023.

  • Kevin

    Kevin is a 22 year old from Adudul B village, Kalaki District. She is the 2nd born of 8 children. Kevin’s father is a farmer and her mother is a church teacher. “ From childhood my vision was to study and become a nurse in order to save lives of my community and the country as a whole.”- Kevin

    Kevin is pursuing a Nursing degree at the Kumi School of Nursing and Midwifery completing a 2 ½ year certificate program. She will graduate in June 2023.

  • Theoplhilas

    Theophilas is a 20 year old from Majengo “A”, Kaberamaido District. She lives with her mother, a single parent and is the second born of three children. Theophilas was inspired to become a nurse at a young age after admiring her mothers’ friend who was in the nursing profession. “I has always dreamt of being a nurse and even went ahead to collect an admission to a nursing institute without any resources for tuition, but only hope that she would somehow be able to study.” – Theophila She started a business selling fish and chips to raise money for her education.

    Theoplhilas is pursuing a Nursing degree at the Kampala University of Nursing and Health Sciences completing a 2 ½ year certificate program. She will graduate in June 2023.

  • Everline

    Everline is a 20 year old from Ojangai village, Kaberamaido District. She is the 2nd born of 8 children. Everline’s dream of becoming a nurse developed when she was in high school, a nurse from a local hospital interact with the students.

    Everline is pursuing a Midwifery degree at the St. Joseph’s Kamuli School of Midwifery and Nursing completing a 2 ½ year certificate program. She will graduate in December 2022.

  • Lilian

    Lilian is a 21-year-old girl from Majengo ‘B’ village, Kaberamaido District. She is the first born of 10 children, and lives with her parents. Her father is a cold-chain health worker and her mother, who sells groceries. Lilian remained home for three years waiting for financial support to complete her dream of becoming a nurse.

    Lilian is pursuing a Nursing degree at the Jerusalem School of Nursing and Midwifery completing a 2 ½ year certificate program. She will graduate in June 2023.
